Help!! Todd Rokita just downloaded an ad to my Mac ... without my permission

Todd Rokita (R-IN) is running for Joe Donnelly seat in November. His campaign just auto-downloaded an ad onto my Mac without my permission. Let me say that again: Without my permission.

I was reading about Hoosier politics on Howey Politics about an hour ago when I noticed that my Mac was downloading something. Each time I clicked on another article, a new download started. I checked out the download (my computer security is set to not download or open downloads automatically) in the finder and discovered this:

040918RokitaResponse.webm

It’s a video ad for Todd Rokita!

WTH?&^%$???

So here’s why this is freaking me out:

  • The Donnelly seat is one that TEAM R sorely wants to pick up
  • Todd Rokita was part of the Brooks Brothers Riot in Miami 2000 and was legal counsel for 7 counties in Florida during that infamous recount
  • Todd Rokita was elected Indiana’s Secretary of State in 2002 where he advanced Indiana’s voter ID laws and successfully defended them through the courts including the US Supreme Court in 2008
  • Todd Rokita was elected to Congress in 2012

He has been a Republican tool for nearly 2 decades.

Now he wants Joe Donnelly seat.

He’s in a heated 3-way Republican primary here in Indiana.

Now he’s downloading ads onto my computer without my permission.

I have googled extensively trying to figure out how he can do that and how I can stop it. I couldn’t find anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

So, that’s my personal issue, but the larger issue is this:

Am I crazy to be thinking that the fix is already in for Rokita?
